About Us

Originally, The Pumas were formed as a youth team in 1987, The Pumas Senior Team was formed on the back of the youth programme.

In association with NFL London Office and Local Maidstone Schools, The Pumas are looking to re-launch the Youth programme, which will eventually cover the 3 types of American football.

The kitted programme depends upon sponsorship and support from various award bodies. To read more of British American Football, please visit the following websites.

Opening Game Postponed

The very first game of the new Pumas Youth team has had to be postponed due to a waterlogged field.

Our opening game was set for the 13th April against local rivals the East-Kent Mavericks in Canterbury but unfortunatly with the poor weather we have been having the Mavericks ground was unusable.

Practice will continue as usual in Maidstone and this should give us some extra time to learn the new playbook drawn up by Coach James McCartney who has said “I’m really pumped up and excited about facing the Mavericks for our first game, I beleive we have some great athletic players who are so keen to play and they are really learning the plays well.”

I plan to reschedule the game for as soon as possible so that we have a goal to train for and then I will also try to get some other games set up with as many of the local teams we can, like the Cinque-Port Monarchs, Mavericks, Kent Exiles, Sussex Thunder, Essex Spartans and so on.

We are also pushing forward on the bid for kit and hope to place an order for at least 6 sets by the middle of this month. This should enable us to start training for 5-a-side kitted in the hope of some freindly games by the end of this year.

We live in interesting times!
